2024: BISI Presentation
The Eden in Iraq Wastewater Garden Project team presented a webinar exploring the project to the British Institute for the Study of Iraq (BISI) on October 16, 2024. This talk covered in depth the work behind this humanitarian water remediation initiative aimed at restoring the fragile ecosystems of the Mesopotamian Marshes in southern Iraq.
As a collaboration between Project Director and artist Meridel Rubenstein, environmental engineers Dr. Mark Nelson and Dr. Davide Tocchetto, and Jassim Al-Asadi, Managing Director of Nature Iraq (NGO), each speaker presented different aspects of this innovative project. The speakers also highlighted the interdisciplinary approach that is key to the project’s success in promoting both environmental restoration and cultural preservation.
