UN Sustainable Development Goals for Garden

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership.
The Eden in Iraq project deals with many of these goals thanks to its multidisciplinary point of action. For example, we are dealing with water (SDGs 6 and 14) that means life for flora and fauna in the Marshland but also means life for the Marsh Arabs living in this environment which is their source of food (SDG 2). We are also linking the SDGs 6, 9 and 11 because the project is a sanitation infrastructure designed in a rural community.

Saving water and re-using treated water are key actions for SDGs 13 and 14.

The Eden in Iraq project SDGs list:

GOAL 2: Zero Hunger

GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-Being

GOAL 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

GOAL 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

GOAL 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

GOAL 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

GOAL 13: Climate Action

GOAL 14: Life Below Water
